CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– August 22, 2018 – GNS Healthcare (GNS), a leading precision medicine company, announced the hiring of veteran software executive Scott McKay as Chief Technology Officer. McKay brings over 25 years of hands-on experience in software development, including his time as Principal Software Engineer at ITA Software, a flight search engine forerunner, later acquired by Google for $700M. He will lead the continuing development and productization of GNS’s causal AI platform, REFS, as well as other GNS software solutions.
Prior to joining GNS, McKay helped several companies grow from new ventures to early stage Series A/B organizations. He served as Chief Technology Officer at ZappRx, a digital health company, and Cleartrip, a travel tech company based in India. Early in his career, McKay was a part of Symbolics, the first internet domain, where he helped the company scale in both talent and revenue.
He will leverage his expertise of agile development and architecting and implementing large, complex IT systems to continue to build the next generation of REFS.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Science in computer science and mathematics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
